iOS Fonts is a free reference for designers and developers who work with iPhone and iPad typography. It lists every font family that shipped with iOS, shows each style rendered live, gives the exact PostScript name you need in code and records the iOS release in which each font first appeared on iPhone and on iPad.
Where the data comes from
The availability table is based on the community-maintained data set from the original open-source iOS Fonts project, which tracked fonts across iOS 3, 4, 5 and 6. Those releases established the core font library that iOS still builds on today. Most of these families continue to ship with current versions of iOS, and Apple has added many more since, including the San Francisco system fonts.
Checking fonts on your own device
Font libraries change between iOS releases. To see exactly what is installed on the version you are targeting, run the font-listing snippet from the custom fonts guide on a device or in the Simulator.
How previews work
This site doesn’t download any font files. Previews ask your browser to use the fonts already installed on your device. On iPhone, iPad and Mac most families render natively; on other systems a fallback font is shown and labelled so you always know what you are looking at.
